How a Lexington agency works with Louisville clients
Louisville is about 75 miles from our office, so we don't pretend to be your neighborhood agent. What we offer instead is an independent agency that compares multiple carriers and answers the phone, without you needing to come in.
- Phone and text: call or text (859) 368-0162 for quotes, questions and policy changes.
- Online: start an online quote and sign documents electronically.
- In person: appointments are available at our Lexington office if you're coming east on I-64 anyway.

Neighborhoods and suburbs we hear from
Louisville is a big, varied county. Insurance needs in an old Highlands shotgun house are not the same as in a new Middletown subdivision.
The Highlands & Germantown
Bardstown Rd and Baxter Ave are lined with older homes, duplexes and apartments. Renters, first-time buyers and owners of century-old houses with updated (or not-yet-updated) wiring and roofs are typical conversations.
Old Louisville & near UofL
Victorian homes broken into apartments, plus students around the University of Louisville. Renters coverage for belongings and liability is the usual question here.
St. Matthews & Crescent Hill
Established neighborhoods along Shelbyville Rd and Frankfort Ave with older single-family homes, condos and busy retail. Home details like roof age and updates matter when we compare carriers.
Jeffersontown
J-town mixes neighborhoods with one of the region's largest business parks, the Bluegrass Commerce Park. We hear from homeowners and from small businesses and contractors working out of the area.
Middletown & the east end
Newer subdivisions off Shelbyville Rd and the Gene Snyder (I-265), with families adding teen drivers and buyers lining up homeowners coverage before closing.
Okolona & the south end
Neighborhoods along Preston Hwy and I-65 near the airport and UPS Worldport, home to many shift workers. Commute schedules, multiple vehicles and overnight parking at work come up in auto reviews.
Driving I-64, I-65 and I-71
- I-64 runs east-west through the city, from the Sherman Minton Bridge past downtown and out through St. Matthews and Middletown toward Frankfort and Lexington. It's also the route to our office.
- I-65 carries traffic south past the airport, Okolona and into Bullitt County, and north across the Ohio River bridges into Indiana. The Lincoln and Kennedy bridges are tolled.
- I-71 heads northeast toward Prospect, Oldham County and Cincinnati.
All three meet downtown at the Kennedy Interchange, better known as Spaghetti Junction, and the I-264 Watterson and I-265 Gene Snyder loops tie the suburbs together. For auto insurance, that means a lot of highway miles, merging traffic and cross-river commutes. When we compare auto options we ask where the car is garaged, how far you drive each day and whether you regularly drive into Indiana.
Where water and wind actually matter
Louisville sits on the Ohio River and has a long flood history, but risk varies a lot block to block:
- Ohio River floodplain. A floodwall and levee system protects much of the city, but low-lying areas along the river, especially in the west and southwest of the county, include mapped flood zones.
- Creeks and flash flooding. Heavy rain has flooded streets, basements and homes along Beargrass, Mill and Pond creeks and in low spots far from the river.
- Wind and severe storms. Severe thunderstorms are common, and the remnants of Hurricane Ike caused widespread wind damage and power outages across Louisville in 2008.
Standard homeowners and renters policies generally exclude flood. Check your address on the FEMA flood map and ask us about separate flood options; we can explain what is and isn't covered without promising more than a policy offers.
Renters, homeowners and small businesses
Renters
Apartments in the Highlands, Old Louisville, NuLu and near UofL. A landlord's policy typically doesn't cover your belongings or liability.
Homeowners
From older homes in Crescent Hill and Germantown to newer builds in Middletown and Fern Creek, we compare several carriers.
Small businesses
Bardstown Rd restaurants and shops, contractors and service businesses around J-town. See our commercial insurance page.
Drivers
Households with commuters, students and teen drivers who want options from more than one company.
