Car insurance companies we compare in Bourbon County

Liberty Mutual, Grange, Progressive, GEICO and Travelers, plus other carriers when they suit you. A rural ZIP code, a long commute and a farm vehicle can each change which carrier fits best, which is why we compare them side by side instead of quoting one.

Paris Pike, US-27 and US-460

Most Paris commuters reach Lexington on Paris Pike (US-27/68) through horse-farm country, or come in on US-460 from the Georgetown side. These are fast roads with long, dark stretches between towns and stone fences close to the shoulder. A single-car crash into a fence or a tree is a collision claim, while a deer strike is usually comprehensive. Knowing the difference, and your deductible for each, matters more here than in town.

Horse farms, farm trucks and trailers

Bourbon County is horse and cattle country. If you pull a horse trailer or a stock trailer, ask how your auto policy treats it. Liability usually follows the truck that's towing, but damage to the trailer itself may need its own coverage. Trucks and trailers used for a farm business, or titled to a farm, may belong on a farm or commercial auto policy. Tell us how each one is used and we'll sort out where it belongs.

Millersburg, North Middletown and the rest of the county

Drivers in the smaller towns often put more miles on each car and rely on one vehicle for everything. Roadside assistance and rental reimbursement are optional add-ons that matter more when the nearest repair shop is a long way off. They're separate from "full coverage," so we'll check whether you have them.

Questions we hear

Is there an Asshield office in Paris?

No. Our office is at 2240 Executive Dr Ste 103, Lexington, KY 40505, about 25 minutes from downtown Paris. We serve Bourbon County by phone, text, email or in person.

Does my auto policy cover my horse trailer?

Liability usually extends to a trailer you're towing, but physical damage to the trailer itself may need to be added or insured separately. It depends on the carrier and how the trailer is used, so ask us.

Is hitting a deer the same as hitting a fence?

No. A deer strike is usually a comprehensive claim. Running off the road into a fence or tree is usually collision. Each has its own deductible.
