Landscaping looks simple from the street, but the exposures stack up quickly: crews running mowers and trimmers near cars and windows, trucks pulling trailers all day, expensive equipment parked overnight, and employees doing physical work in the heat.
We build landscaping programs that match your services — mowing, installs, irrigation, hardscaping, tree trimming — so the policy responds to the work you are actually doing.
A crew member mowing an HOA common area throws a rock through a resident’s car window and a second rock hits a child’s leg. General liability handles both the property damage and the injury claim, and the certificate naming the HOA as additional insured kept the contract in place.
Where we see it locally
Year-round growing seasons on the Gulf Coast and busy spring-through-fall seasons in Kentucky and the other states we serve mean crews, trucks, and equipment work hard. HOAs and commercial property managers commonly require certificates with additional insured wording.
What keeps landscaping & lawn care owners up at night
Thrown objects
A rock from a mower cracks a windshield or sliding glass door.
Property damage
Cutting an irrigation line, damaging a fence, or killing a client’s plants with the wrong treatment.
Truck and trailer accidents
Vehicles on the road all day with trailers in tow.
Equipment theft
Mowers and trailers are frequent theft targets.

Lacerations, heat illness, and back strains.

Landscaping & Lawn Care insurance questions
Does general liability cover chemical application?
Many GL policies limit or exclude herbicide and pesticide application unless it is disclosed and rated. Tell us if you apply chemicals so the policy is written correctly.
Is my trailer covered by my truck’s policy?
Liability usually extends to an attached trailer, but physical damage to the trailer and its contents may not. Trailers can be scheduled on commercial auto and contents on inland marine.
Do I need workers’ comp for seasonal workers?
Generally, state rules apply to seasonal and part-time employees as well. We will confirm your state’s requirements.
Does tree trimming change my insurance?
Yes. Tree work above certain heights is a higher-hazard class and may require a different carrier. Disclose it up front.
Can I get coverage for snow removal?
Snow and ice removal is a separate exposure that carriers rate specifically. Tell us if you offer it.
